Welcome & Purpose
Why we're Here

The upcoming irrigation system installation represents the most significant improvement to the IRCC golf course in years.

Our goal:

  • Minimize disruptions during installation

  • Proactively prevent long-term damage

  • Leverage this opportunity to elevate course quality for the future

The Tiger Team has:

  • Assessed all 18 holes on the course

  • Identified top 25 issues to prioritize resources

  • Gained a strong understanding of the fact we need to expect the unexpected & plan for it.

The Bigger Picture
Why Course Condition Matters

It's not just turf...it's trust.

A well kept course drives new membership, Home Values & is the Community Barometer:

  • The condition of the course directly reflects on the community as a whole

  • It influences member satisfaction, resale value, and our marketing perception

The post-irrigation era should represent not just "restoration" but transformation

We must stay proactive, strategic & unified in how we maintain & enhance the grounds.

Irrigation System Installation
What we know & What we Don't....

We don’t yet have the full picture of exactly how the irrigation installation will unfold.

What we do know is this:

  • areas of the course will be dug up & with excavation comes unpredictability.

  • Roots. Rocks. Soil inconsistencies. Each can turn a simple trench into a complex challenge — fast.

In short: We must expect disruption & anticipate as much as is possible.

Install crews will be using everything from hand tools to trenchers to heavy equipment. Even with the best intentions, it’s easy to scar a course without a solid mitigation plan in place.

  • Cocoa Beach Country Club’s project left visible, lasting turf damage — a lesson we don’t want to learn the hard way.

Post Installation
Operating & Updating

Do we know or will we know...

Is there any type of training plan regarding how to properly operate this new Irrigation System?

  • Is this part of the installation package?

  • Do we need to seek guidance from installation company?

Once Irrigation system is installed, are we able to close Holes No. 2 & 7 to facilitate new sod, sprigging or hydro mulching?

  • Do we have a plan to communicate something like this to members so they understand what the process will be like?

Course Improvements Worth Discussing
While the course is partially torn up.....

No. 7 Fairway Widening:

Widen fairway beyond the 100-yard marker

Options include:

  • Removing select palm trees

  • Relocating palms to opposite side

  • Re-routing traffic paths

The Oak Tree

  • Iconic but obstructive

  • Action: Consult arborist for an approach that balances respect for the tree with course functionality

The post-irrigation era should represent not just "restoration" but transformation

Mitigating Future Issues
While we're at it, we can also attend to...

Drainage Oversight - Low Cost & High Impact:

  • Uncover hidden/clogged drains on holes No. 2, 7 & 9

  • Low Work = High Benefit when needed most

  • Drainage repair work can be folded into this phase of the project

Beautification Initiative:

  • Potentially form a resident-led beautification team

  • Plan & plant flowers, shrubs, landscape upgrades across tee boxes, entrances & high-visibility areas

Preventative Cart Traffic Management:

  • Expand roped-off areas & Funnel Carts to Paths in high-stress zones (Holes No. 3, 12 & 13) by progressive routing from the grass to the cart paths

  • Utilize clear signs & roped off areas to protect sensitive turf through signage & directional herding like techniques.

Final Thoughts & Next Moves

Align, Decide & Execute

The Irrigation System Installation is something that can be looked back on as a turning point for IRCC, as it can be either:

  • Littered with complications & issues, or

  • Full of opportunities where all involved accepted the challenge, planned accordingly & responded sufficiently when anything occurred & minimized or eliminated the majority of issues that could have otherwise set IRCC back significantly.
